Not much work today so I said fuck it, I’m going fishing. Live a 1/4 mile from this spot, never fished there. Was setting up my bait when the top water started exploding with fish. Switched to a rapala and had some luck. First time in saltwater for over a year

@Mademan925 Might have missed it, but did you ever end up keeping the rear bags for the GX when you upgraded the suspension?

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Ugly sticks are suppose to bend tip to tip without breaking. Don’t recommend trying it though cuz they will break.

    Ask me how I know.

i'm shooting for basic level quality so i expect the shit to work but i don't have visions of pulling up marlin. $69 for the rod, $50 for the reel and about $80 in tackle to get me started.

for the price the rod seems to be pretty good quality. of course, i wouldn't know otherwise anyway.

I feel like they cheapened that brand starting a few years ago. I had one for probably 10 years, and I absolutely beat the piss out of it. I was to the point where I was trying to break it on purpose because I was so blown away by the strength. Ironically, I lost it to someone breaking into my truck last year and swiping it.

    Yeah I went with 4.88 ( guess I need 35s now... :notsure:Oh well).

I bought the pre assembled 3rds, from what I've heard from people that have done the rebuild themselves it's not worth it, and with my new work schedule I never would have been able to find the time.

Not enough to have a build thread.
Its not just normal tools, theres also special tools you're supposed to use. I told my foreman that if he ever wants me to do gears, he better find every special tool I need and have them next to my box before I'll even touch the truck. Havent done a set of gears yet. I'm sure the special tools were supposed to have are gone/lost/in the abyss

And those special tools are not cheap either. Plus you just going to use them once and hopefully never ever use them again.
