I recently installed Firestone air shocks and attached are pics of the lower mount for the airbag, with a Daystar cradle attached to it. The notched inside of the lower air shock mount with a Daystar on it hovers over the axle. It looks like it was originally intended to help support the air shock by resting on the axle. If you installed air shocks over your modified springs, do they also look like this too? My AAL made the springs higher which causes the space. Im wondering if I should modify the mount to butt up on the axle before the weight of a full load + a travel trailer on the airbags push down on the daystars and start bending that part downwards? I know it’s a thick metal mount, should it be a concern?

You probably should extend the bracket leg. I had this same condition on a Tundra and the bracket bent when I had a load on it.

I am getting ready to install this same setup with aftermarket leaf springs. I will be extending the bracket. I was going to bolt a new piece on (after drilling holes) but now that I have a welder I will just weld one on.

Ok, thanks. I thought there may be an issue, and yeah, with that bolt on the daystar being off center on the mount and the mount having no support from the axle, It looked like a possible issue...
