Just joined thanks for having me.

    I am purchasing a 2006 Pre-Runner Access Cab 4x4 4.0L V6. It's got just 8600 miles (yep 8600) according to Carfax and Autocheck.

What issues should I be concerned about and what immediate maintenance would you all recommend before I put 5000 miles on her.

She's had an oil change and new rubber all around.

    Thanks

    PS - she's my first Tacoma, selling 1993 Ford F250 4x4

Welcome to TW... Nice find, first you want to check for frame rust. Replace fluids and check u-joints,shocks,belts and anything else that can deteriorate over time.

    Thanks,

A mechanic has gone through the truck in prep for its sale. Says all is in working order. I'll have u-joints lubed, and replace hoses and belts as well. Any idea about internal engine parts that might be rubber and therefore deteriorated if not bathed in oil all these years? Like valve seals etc. I wonder if I'm buying a nightmare.
