    Hey,

I am wondering if anyone knows of any after market exhausts that don't follow the stock pipes. I am looking to find one that does not sit at the lowest point of the underbelly, ( or is this just a something that we have to live with?). I have looked at a bunch of different spots on TW and have not been able to find anything.

    Thanks

Keep searching man. I just saw a thread the other day where someone mentioned that exact same idea. Somebody has either done it or knows about a product. I will try and find the thread but it was only a few days ago.

I've always been a fan of Magnaflow mufflers, I would consider finding a good Muffler shop to custom bend piping to what you want and slap a Magnaflow (or other) in the space near the back.

How does it sound? Did you need any other part to install it like sensor extensions or anything?

there is another thread somewhere with quite a few others with it and various part combos, so definitely spend some time searching.

i have the TRD exhaust and i simply kept the muffler when i installed the Y pipe. the TRD muffler note is nice and low, i like it. after installing the Y pipe it changed mainly above 3k rpm. before it kept the resonant low rumble a bit, but after removing the cats the V6 now buzzes like a V6 usually does, but only above 3k or so. it's not loud and it doesn't drone, so it's not a problem really, but i think there's a better muffler for me, because i highway drive a lot and use the sound to guide my shifts (MT), so the buzz has to go. most folks wouldn't make a deal about it. not in a rush but one day I'll start swapping mufflers.

edit: but i should mention that it does sound properly good under 3k... a little sharper sound but about the same as TRD stock at lower rpm.

I've seen several people just take their truck to a shop and have them reroute the exhaust pipemail to a higher location
