For those wanting the PDF. When you read the PDF it doesn't mention the MT but when you do the health check with the techstream it show that the update is available. If your previous calibration ID matches your good to update. My previous cal ID was 8966304A7000 and is now 8966304A7100 for my 2018 M6 so I was good to go.

I’m trying to figure out what the TSB would do for a manual transmission. It’s a fucking manual tranny! There’s nothing electronic about it. The only way to adjust anything is to crack it open and manually adjust the inner gearing.

The TSB procedure clearly refers to the torque converter. We in the manual transmission world don’t have those. We have a clutch.

Not going to apply to the manual transmission folks.

I suspect the wording of the tsb hasnt been changed yet. I had checked for an update about a week ago and nothing. You could go in and ask them to do a health check using the techstream. The tech would see the update was available.

Noticed a non-linear power delivery from day one.

This. Not sure how I'm going to go in to the dealership and tell them "trust me, just run the diagnostic" and have them do it and fix it

As far as I understand things ( and I may very well be way off base) is that 0058-16 and 0062-18 are both basically the same update except 62 covers the '18AT also. OV said that the 62 has a bunch of changes besides trans stuff like valve timing and throttle tables so it'd seem logical that even though you guys have a manual trans, the update addresses the driveability aspect of the motor

Ok guys... Yes we can all agree that trying to get a dealer to update a M/T truck by presenting the A/T PDF probably won't get you that far.

The existence of a new M/T calibration for 2018s (04A71) has, however, been confirmed by @Ruggybuggy . He's running it on his truck right now. He didn't get it by going to a dealer and demanding it. Yeah, we know he doesn't have a torque converter.

Everybody please chill out for a bit and wait. The proper M/T TSB will probably drop before too long. We are still at the leading edge of this!

Yeah those two TSBs also address different symptoms in their wording (one is surging 40-50mph, the other is a stumble upon takeoff at WOT). In the end though, the new calibration ID is the same for both of them.

exactly, it's the same calibration ID but a couple different IDs listed as being able to be updated. So if it's the same calibration ID in the end would the 0062-18 be able to be applied to the manual ECU? Would someone be up for attempting to apply the CUW file to their manual truck to see if it'll allow it? Better yet, will someone with a Techstream account download the 0058-18 CUW file so people can try to apply it?

Someone who's 04B12 could give it a try I guess... since that calibration is named in the documentation.
