Looking at getting a 2017

This. I test drove a '17 with 9,000 miles. It was a nonhaggle joint and they wanted $33,500. I ended up buying a new '18 for $600 more. You've got to haggle at it though.

 

Liking it! I got my OR for 32,500 and very little negotiating. At least this method ensures that any issues with the truck were under your ownership at least.

 

So what is the total price then? Because remember dealers mark up prices just to leave room for negotiating.

 

That's as cheap as I've seen regardless of options. Goodwork for sure.

 

That’s when you compare new to new price... But, they were still pretty close in price even with TSS. What gets ya is the tech stuff. Prices can get near $36k and higher with all those goodies. I got mine for 32,500 and it is perfect for me. I don’t need extra crap I may not use. Plus, some of those extras are more things to break down eventually. Such as the electrical add ons i.e. heated seats and climate control.

 

Thanks. Others have purchased theirs for cheaper though. Must be better at negotiating than me! Lol! Only difference is mine is a manual. Which is what I wanted to begin with.

 

What did yours sticker at? Mine stickered at $39.1 for reference.

 

Somewhere right around 34,300 if I remember correctly. It’s been like 16 months ago lol. I am almost positive on that number though. Also, there were no incentives like there have been since when I bought mine.

K, guys. here's one for you. I'm new to the Tacoma truck and the message boards, hoping they are as good as the Jeep boards though I'm looking at a 2017 TRD OR 4x2 for a relative. Has 20k miles on it. Dealer is asking $29,576 price not including taxes, doc and registration. Seems to be in the realm based on feedback I've found and got from auction prices, etc. Think I can push for $27-$28k. Greatly appreciate any feedback.

 

All dealerships are different in how they deal with haggling, from what I’ve experienced. I’d say research KBB, and start at the low end of it. Best thing you can do is visit the dealership and do it in person. That motivates them to strike a deal. You could maybe add in that you could buy a new one for not much more, and try to spin that to your advantage. Also, if you’re looking at the off road model; why not go for 4x4?

 

do you have the vin? I can do a search on TIS and see what was repaired.

 

Right!? Seems rather silly to buy an OR 4x2?

 

So the dealer said this was because the previous owner got new wheels and wanted the TPMS transferred.
