Its weird seeing a older generation toyota pick up next to the newest generation.

Anybody else have some pictures of the old and new together?

I call them older brothers. The dad would have to be the "Toyota Pickup"

Bilstein 5100's up front, lots of tree scratches, ruined rear bumper

Brother in law got a '91 a few weeks back, makes the idea of the Taco still being 'mid-sized' hilarious.

It’s amazing! Today’s Tacomas feel as big as full size trucks back in the 90s.

Park next to a late 80's early 90's GM 1/2 ton Shortbed 4x4 and you will be amazed at how close in size they are. Yet still no V8 love for the Tacoma from Toyota:(

For sure, the older 'pickup' era drove a lot like a Wrangler, the newer taco is basically a 1/2 ton of the 90's. Modern full-size (and the ever more common 3/4 ton) are absolutely massive beasts of burden.

Stuffing my 3rd Gen down Jeep trails is almost always met with brush pinstripes.

    Rack & Rails, de-badged & de-stickered, road radio, light bar, KO2's.
My old '06 on the left & '16 on the right. Had good luck with the '06, and so far so good with the new one. Really don't like the Inferno colour, but it had all the features I wanted (manual AC).

Yes weird, to see 20 years worth of progress and even more strange that you had an optional supercharger back in 1997 from the dealer putting out (300hp) at 3100 pounds and the 2018 Tacoma power options are 278hp at 4500 pounds. The old Tacoma really was a mini truck and the new Tacoma really is a full size truck.
