I have been mentoring a guy for that long. He’s not measuring up. I think the mgr blames me, even though two of us told him not to hire the guy way back when.

That happened to me about a year ago after I wrapped up two big long running projects. It was like the fire went out. Recently it’s been rekindled and the latest project has my full attention again. But this guy is relentless with his detours, interruptions, and emergencies. And I don’t know if I want to deal with those anymore.

Thanks to all of you. It feels good to have a place to vent and to bounce this kind of stuff around. Really good.

Afternoon All from the great wet Southeast PA :annoyed:rained again last night. After reading all the threads on retirement and problems at work, I can relate to them and I fortunately was able to get out when I did and never looked back. Both times I retired(once after 30 years and second after 12 years) were because of management. Best moves I ever made. Enjoyed the work just not the work conditions. Now I am enjoying life. One note to all those pondering retirement, only you can make your decision as to when and how you are going to do it. Plan ahead so you'll be ready . Have a good day all.:hattip:

 o_O That does not sound like a good plan Mike!
Of course if you could shoot more deer and catch more fish you could save a pile of money! :D
I'd be starving, usually I have a lot of walleye in the freezer, last year and this year weren't too productive and I ran out of deer meat awhile ago.

I also have a Geiselle SSA-E trigger, they run sales on them quite a bit so no need to pay list if you should decide to get one for the NEXT BUILD! :D

Carl, I have seen some of those sales including some where the trigger is bundled with some 30 round P-mags.

Before and After. Ready to go to the range for a test fire and adjust the gas block before sighting it in.

I bet it shoots "lights out" of course not literally for the non shooters who may misunderstand this term.

Really like it. Great stock, free float hand guard, and the flash hider.

What riflescope and reticle is that Mark?

If I manage to escape from behind enemy lines in a couple of years, first thing I'll do is to pick up a couple of Colts like I had before the BS started. Just because.

The scope is a Monstrum 1-6X24 with an illuminated red/green reticle. Off brand but it has pretty solid reviews - and both mount and scope were under $200. I'm not going to be shooting more than 300 or 400 yards so I'm not worried about the glass quality...but my initial impression is that it's not bad.

Once you get a few down range you will know right away if you like it.

:pccoffee: Oh boy -- another soggy day. Yesterday was wild, with storms cropping up almost out of nowhere. I think today will be more of the same. SWMBO wants to move two large pieces of furniture she refinished over to a consignment shop. Given the iffy weather we're going to take them one at a time in her CRV. Maybe I should find myself a cap for the Taco...
I think you were trying to make a joke, but I've looked into it and medical insurance for seniors is anything but. The "free" part of Medicare (Part A) only covers hospitalization. My retirement planning assumes $thousands per year for medical coverage.
