I have a 2018 SR that I would like to raise the front a little.

I have read through many posts but not many regarding an SR seems more sport and OR trucks.

To do the level (1 or 2 notches above stock), I will have to change the springs as well, correct?

I do not want the nose high look.

    Thanks.

    park on flat surface

measure distance from YOUR hub center to the bottom of the fender flare.

throw a floor jack under the truck............lift until it looks level

    measure

    subtract

set billys accordingly to make YOUR truck level?

Ok, so one changed springs and one didn't.

I guess the question is what is proper to do? Change the springs be or not? Both were on 2nd gen trucks, I have a 3rd.

Also, forgive me, I am new to looking at suspensions.

Always use lift coils if u can instead of preloading stock coils

Great, thanks. Any recommendations for coils? I have been reading through the forums and am still unsure. As I see, some will lift too much?

On 5100s the first setting is stock height, the second is .65” and third setting is 1.1” above stock. You should use .65 above or you’ll be higher in the front and too much preload on the stock coils.

I’d just get a set of 4 Bilstein 5100s (cheap as $300 for 4) and replace the stock shocks and use your current coils and leaf springs.

Sell your old shocks on CL to offset the cost.

Go with 885 or 886 OME coils.

My advice, unless you’re adding armor you don’t need them.

You will need to set the shock on the 3rd notch for 1.1” of lift which will be pretty dead on for leveling. Mine are currently set at that with stock coils and rides FAR better than stock. My sport shocks were far too bouncy for my liking.

Interesting, I did the same thing on stock coils. A lot of members said the Sport is too stiff, I found it bouncy as well. I also put on Cooper AT3 LT tires and 30 psi which helped even more. Handles great and absorbs everything on the road and off better.

Yeah way too bouncy for me. Felt like I was in a bouncy house half the time I went over speed bumps. I have E rated KO2’s at 42PSI and it works phenomenally well with the shocks.

Since I'm new to the Taco world and this is my first post, I have the same question and wanted to confirm what I'm reading. I plan to get the Bilstien 5100's and place the front at the second notch to get 0.65" of lift. I may go ahead and get shocks for the rear but don't know if it's really necessary for what I want out of my truck.

I'm not going to take my truck off-road or put larger tires on, maybe just some slightly more aggressive ones. I have a jeep for doing fun stuff like that. I merely want to give the truck a better stance and make it level.

You’ll want the 3rd notch for 1.1” which will be pretty dead on. At .65” up front you’ll still have rake.

Awesome. I attached a pic though it really doesn't mean much without a tape measure.Taco1.jpg

Did you get a rear block or AAL for the rear?
