    Mine is necessary for the scope of my build. Drive and passenger valve covers both have AN fittings tapped into them. Then routing into the catch can. My catch can is not routed back into my intake, such as factory.

    I want to say 3/8" NPT. It would have to be tapped. Unless you can find a metric to AN.

    Mine is a bit more. It brings coolant in from the radiator to heat the aos and prevent condensation. It also drains the oil back, so it never needs emptying. But like @Torspd said, buy what you wish.

    The W1 i bought for the taco was around a hundred bucks iirc, cheap when you figure in how much damage you could potentially prevent over time with sludge buildup. If you are FI, i have read that it is even more imoortant to run one.

    That catch can sounds epic! One question though, I have read that the “oil” you catch should be discarded and not put back into the motor, since yours kills the moisture is this what allows the oil to drain back with no issue?

    If routed in line with the OEM hoses, one of the first problems to present its ugly head, is a vacuum leak. Associated with poor sealing of fittings or hose, with the cheap models. Followed shortly after by oil leaks.

    "Oil leak," is a little column A, a little column B though. As it means the unit is self draining, and requires you to change your oil more regularly. Lol

    Factory component on my '97 Bimmer. That oil coalesces and drains back. The heat from the system is what separates the moisture/air from the oil.

    Nothing that a little innovation couldn't overcome. I know of a few people in the S/C tips and tricks thread that could easily make it happen. ;)

    No doubt! And for sure, the W1 I bought for $40 on fleabay is on the lower end of production quality. I was just curious what the added benefit was for 5x the cost.
