I'm newbie here with my Tacoma 2018 just bought around 2 weeks. In my mind, I imagine that Tacoma is better then my old 4runner when driving in the heavy rain; but that is totally different. Yesterday I drove my Tacoma in heavy rain, I feel very hard to see everything in front of me because it was blocked by the rain on windsheild even I tried to used hi speed of windshield blade. I have to slow down my speed around 30mph for safety. I had asked my friend about that. He said that I need to replace the better windshield blade to see how.
Does anyone faced with this problem? Can I have some advise?
Thanks for read and sharing your experience.

Try rain-x. I've used in on all my vehicles for 20 years, never have any problems seeing in heavy rain.

Polarized sunglasses help me. It may seem counterintuitive, but it's the glare you're fighting, not the light.

Clean the windshield with something like Bar Keepers friend.

It's quite likely that your new truck has contaminates such as liquid wax on it.

Wipe the rubber of the blades with alcohol to remove anything similar.

There's a thing called glassparency and it's like rain-x on steroids

100% I have this issue. The rain drops dont come close to beading like on my other yotas. And I dont use rain-x on those either.

The drops sheet out and distort the view. Anything over a light sprinkle and im blind. I will have to try some type of repellant on this truck, but for sure something is different about the glass repelling water vs. Any of my family's 6 other toyota/lexus vehicles.

    See post #4.

    Betting that will fix it.

Thank you very much. You're always willing to follow and help the newbie like me. That's help me a lot.
By the way, may I know is it impacted to the windshield coating when we use Bar Keepers Friend to clean it?

Yep, rain-x or apply sealant that you use for car on the windshield it'll do the trick as well

When you wax your truck use the same wax on all your windows. Just be sure to sprinkle a little water on the glass as you buff the wax to get the clearest finish. Water, snow and salt slush will bead off for about year.

I clean my wipers with rubbing alcohol and then treat the blade with protectant 303.

Interesting stuff, looks like it's pretty new on the market.

100$ for application to the windshield seems steep to me.

Lets see typical glass coating cost 50 to 100 dollars, RainX 5 to 6 dollars, which one should I use to get the same results?:der:

I use Rain-X and has worked for me. I also use Rain-X windshield cleaner when I fill up the windshield fluid reservoir.

The wipers on these trucks are also slower at full speed than any vehicle I've had before. The highest speed is like medium on my last vehicles. Feel like I'm gonna snap the stick off searching for more wiper speed
