Is there a gap between the radar and garnish? If so how big?

Not yet. Lol. He said he didn’t need that. Oldest Toyota dealer in the country I think Toyota just lets them do whatever they want.

I installed my non OEM 2018 Pro grille over a week ago. The TSS sensor fit perfectly with the original screws.

I initially drove without any cover to protect the sensor and I would get the "clean sensor" warning every couple miles on the freeway.

Then, I got my hands around a black piece of acrylic, cut it to fit the space in front of the sensor and used double sided tape to get it in place. I have used cruise control 4 times now without any errors. 20180808_161718.jpg 20180808_161723.jpg

Quick question, is the tss sensor on the TRD off road and the TRD Pro different? Are they different part numbers?

From what I remember they’re different. A while back someone posted the part numbers.

Same sensor...the grille for 2018 has a different [cheaper] part number.

Looks like they are slightly different part numbers but what I don’t get is that people have been installing the pro grill without changing the sensor and not having any issues.

:notsure: May have something to do with the mounting hardware...can't imagine they'd have two substantially different parts for the same function.

So all the people on here who have swapped grills haven’t had to change the sensor, correct.

Had any problems? Did you put the garnish in? Any tips?

Even though I purchased the OEM garnish, I wanted to see if I can use a piece of black plastic in it's place so I cut up an extra glove compartment organizer I had and glued it on to the grill and it works perfectly. No error messages, adaptive CC works, pre-collision works for the past 2k miles. I still have the garnish sitting in my garage just in case the truck starts throwing TSS errors. My main motivation for not using the garnish was that I wanted something that is not as shiny as the garnish.
