Best one you can get IMO. The only downer is the blue LED's. They are pretty bright and I hated it in my Civic. Loved the gauge but having my entire cab light up blue was getting annoying really fast. I sold it and should of just put window tint over it or something to dim it more. Everything SMD makes is a great product.

I ended up getting a cheap on on Amazon, works fantastic and was cheap. The only issue I don't like is the green bar tops at 14v, but the gauge reads past that. Plus it's small. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MATE05S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well i did bit more research on this topic myself and realized i didn't necessarily need to purchase the lci7 nor a component set of speakers. i found a kicker amp that has high level signal output filtering which is the stock speaker wires as well as its on crossfader built into it. so basically it has its own DSP Controlled preamp in it. does the same exact thing the lci7 does plus will allow to add your other sub amp and filter out any mids or highs for only your lows. no need in tapping into your speakers for your sub amp at all,
so i would just run a speedwire to this amp and not have to worry about anything else and can amplify my already upgraded door speakers.

here is the amp i am purchasing and it will save me almost $300 in what i was going to do with the lci7 and a component set and the uneeded extra speedwire. i recommend anyone wanting to upgrade door speaker or even just to amplify your stock speakers to go this route to save money and not have to buy unnecessary equipment that newer and a little more expensive amps will handle for you already.

    https://www.amazon.com/Kicker-KXA40...33269550&sr=8-8&keywords=kicker+4+channel+amp

check out kickers site for a bit more detail on this particular amp and its features to integrate into stock systems here.

    https://www.kicker.com/kxa4004-4-channel-amplifier

As well as the online manual for the amp that shows how to wire and all its functions.
    https://www.kicker.com/app/manuals/amplifiers/kx/2017_KXA_Stereo_Amps_Rev_H.pdf

Thanks for all the help for sure guys. it helped me wrap my head around it all and helped me decide on how i wanted my install to be!

So how are going getting the signal from the amp to your door speakers?

easy man just use another 9 wire from the amp output back to the factory harness.

crutchfield has a nice write up on it.

    https://www.crutchfield.com/S-wIpIiheRJgH/learn/connecting-an-amplifier-to-a-factory-radio.html

dont even have to use auto turn on because these newer amps detect the signal and turn on as soon as sound is detected. i realised i was still stuck in the late 90's and 2000's with using and installing outdated audio components and i knew that by now some company has solved the issue of having to use all these added unnecessary adapters and components.

think about this as tech advances. soon amps will be wireless sending signal straight to head units and vice versa. id be surprised if the technology isnt already out there. speaker wire will be obsolete in the future eventually i for see. they already have smart amps. look into kickers new key amp. its pretty awesome man.

didnt mean to hi jack your thread but these amps just keep amazing me. this amp does eveything the lci7 and a set of crossovers does but allows you to do it wirelessly with your phone. amazing man

Here is how I deaden the door skin. I also used black hole tiles to absorb the backwaves from the speaker.

Have you read the thread and the walk through I took time to write up for everyone? I'm sorry to be blunt but I'm not writing it all again. You have a TRD sport just like me. What do you think?

Wouldn’t you need 2 of these one for front speakers and one for back speakers (or am I completely wrong on my thinking) since there is only 1 set of RCA’s to go to the AMP/LOC?

Figured I let you know. Got my wiring done. I remember you telling me that using my existing factory wiring with an amp to power my door speakers was almost near impossible or that you had tried it and it didnt work so you used components and crossovers, well my harness is done! I'll be hooking it up to my kicker kxa amp that has an internal dsp, eq, crossover this weekend and use rca from that amp to send its output to the 2600watt sub amp powering my subs running on 1ohm stable. It's going to be a monster!

Side note the speakers did mount in that box that is custom built for our trucks just fine! I removed the entire plastic and backseats to get it in so much easier. I'll put backseats in after everything is done. Plastic backing and storage will stay out though. I also poly filled the box since its sealed and it's a smaller box. Should give nice low hard hitting bass. The speakers have plenty of mounting depth though. I'll be sound dampening this weekend the doors and back wall. I decided to go with kickers 1/0 amp wiring kit to use distribution block to power both amps. Never can go wrong with more power and since my amp is over 1500watts 4guage didnt make sense. Thanks for your input and guidance but I got it all figured out with a bit more research and elbow grease! I'll probably create my own thread to help people as well as just to document it all. Here are a few pics!

    Too much.
Who told you it couldn't be done? I did the same thing. The oem wiring can handle up to 85 watts.....

    Nice job!
