TRD Pro grille scam? eBay

Well guys, I have a good update!! Got home from work, went straight to the mailbox and there it was, the missing golden piece! The only downside was that it was broken in one spot but that was the least of my worries as a little super glue took care of it. Already installed! The figment seems to be a bit off but you get what you pay for! $75 vs $400 at the dealer or whatever they go for!

EDIT: apparently sellers send them separately to avoid issues with Toyota.

 

The last time I checked Chico and Los Angeles were more than 400 miles away from each other

 

If I recall, there are some faux grilles sent in two pieces to avoid the Toyota copyright/trademark or something.
There was a seller on TW that did a similar method, instead shipped the stick on letters seperately.
As for the fitment, or the slight gap, apparently even the OEM TRD Pro grilles have the gap around the corners.
Glad all of it came eventually.

 

Mine was 1 piece and I had to stick on the letters. Luckily it all came in the same box. The fitment is great though can’t beat for it $78 which is all is worth to me for a plastic part.

 

Just for the record; you 3rd genners suck for being able to get a the pro grille that cheap. Not happening here with the 2nd gens and we're jealous.

Yeah I sort of feel your pain, the same goes for the 5th gen 4Runner I’ve been looking one but they haven’t made the knock offs yet (or at least not that I have found)...and I’m am certainly not paying $500-600 for an OEM

 

Dang. Just checked mine and it's coming from Canada. Ugh... stuff comes slow to the states from there too.

 

Mine shipped from China via Amazon. Arrived in 3 days, I'm not even sure how it's possible.

So weird hearing if something from canada being shipped to the US. Normally everything comes from your end.

 

I have had to do this before and the item still showed up. The Chinese sellers often lose them in shipping.
