Made my way up to Argentine solo yesterday. Wasn’t quite sure if I found the right trail since I somehow bypassed the ghost town, but I ended up finding the trail marker (248.1). It was getting dark so unfortunately I had to turn around at the top without having a chance to descend into the sweet valley on the other side. I will definitely be back to make the whole route!

Headed back down. It was getting dark and started to lightly sprinkle.

Another fork takes you to this vantage where someone had a nice little campfire recently.

    Until next time CO!

@Littles i didn’t take near as many pictures as I wish I had, but this is a pretty good one of you before the ascent to the top.

Those pics look like the top of McClellan Mountain.

Edit: *Yep, the road to the top of McClellan is 248.1. To get to the top of Argentine, you'll need 724.1.

More of a reason to go back! 724.1 must be the road on the other side of the valley from where I was that starts at the big tailings pile?

The big tailings pile is at the ghost town, and yes, 724.1 heads south/southwest from there.

It's definitely a letdown in that sense. We're a few decades too late for those buildings.

Did anybody record that route we did Sunday on Gaia? I made a track and effed it up when we got back. I meant to edit the tail where I forgot to turn it off but deleted the main part instead. Was wanting to look at it on the map. Gaia says you can’t undo that.

I didn’t even know you could edit tracks on Gaia. I meant to record our route but forgot to start recording until part way through so I just said “fuck it”. Sorry man

You can but apparently I am an idiot. It said edit track and then you pick a start and end point, but then it deleted everything in between. I was wanting to delete the part NOT included in the portion. Gaia says they archive all maps, but apparently they do not do so with "tracks". I need to learn more about the software but I tend to only mess with it on trails and dont have time to "figure it out"

I knew somebody would be a champ! Thanks! That was too much good information to lose.

Alright @Squeaky Penguin- Consider yourself tied/ exceeded. After running Red Cone/ Radical Hill/ SOB Hill and playing in all the traffic on 285, I then ran Colorado Mills, Westminster & Flat Irons Mall like a BOSS!

Seems I need to bring my good camera, my phone pics were crap.

 That's a good loop. The shot of that cabin earlier reminded me of this one:

I think it was @teamhypoxia though that was giving everyone a hard time about not completing the loop, or being able to find SOB.

Is this heading up to the plateau? I've taken the bike up there before. Pretty gnarly.
