AZ What I do..

Born in Slovakia during communism way back in 1982, got bored so I immigrated to the US. Became a citizen, acquired some properties (PHX and Flag) that I rent out and daily I manage the IT infrastructure for a GC with offices and jobsites around AZ.

My wife is from Oregon so having the Val vista location opening was akin to the 2nd coming of Jesus. And yes I was one of those fools in the 3 hour line at 0600 on opening day.

That's neat, my mom's side of the family is/was from Slovakia, although they bailed back when it was called the Austro-Hungarian empire, for an idea of how long ago that was...

What area of Slovakia did you come from? I think I still have some very distant relatives living in Košice.

The very little bit of Slovak I know (mainly just words, not even phrases) is apparently a very weird eastern dialect because a lot of it does not match what you find on google translate at all.

 

At my work on 43rd and broadway we make bus shelters for the city of Phoenix, Peoria, gila river and asu. I do fab work on the side with @Milota95 over off ironwood and guad. We will happily make you some sliders man!

I am from a little town (30K people) in central Slovakia called Ziar nad Hronom (literally translates to "The glow over the river Hron" - an old communist aluminum factory) Still have relatives and own some property there. Need to go back soon as my European Union passport just expired. Kosice is a nice historic city, a bit more eastern than the rest of Slovakia as it's pretty much at the border with Ukraine - thus most likely the dialect difference.

AZ native...lived here all my life except for the 12 years the Navy had me. Debating on a move to PNW (WA) in the next 3 to 5...
