Im also thinking about getting the Ikamper. Looks like a great deal. Lets see how much it is with shipping and all. I can prolly sell my pop up tent trailer to pay for it.
anyone been screwed by kickstarters before? I ordered some fitness watches many years ago. and never recieved or gotten the item. nor did they offer a refund.

If you check on their site, they have shipping listed for everywhere in the world. I was able to calculate what mine would be to my little village in Germany already.

Kickstarter can certainly be nerve induing... but its hard to beat 1K off of oa 3K tent. We are gonna roll the dice and go for this one

Presale starts tmrw and I'm in on it. Only concern is the length of 86 inches. Anyone thinking about putting it on top of a double cab? I know most people put it on the bed rack but I'd rather keep my bed open for my camping gear. My main concern is that it's gonna hang over the front or back about 20 inches or so. Any one else have this concern?

I ended up picking up the KB Voodoo rack in preparation for this. both the cab and back will have leveled Prinsu racks on them. Although the majority will be over the bed, I will still have a good ammount of tent that leaks onto the front end. I am excited for this buy though!

Did you end up grabbing it? I was amazed at how fast they were selling. They reached their 100k goal in less than ten minutes. Can't wait for mine to show up.

I'm still debating if I want it. The 3 percent of me saying no is thinking of getting a smaller unit on the roof. Just haven't seen such a big item on the roof of a taco that's almost 30 inches longer than the roof. Just trying to get some more opinions from others that carry a lot on their rigs.

I've been looking at combo-ing this with a bed rack and tonneau cover set up, but IDK. It seems like it will stick out too much. Think it would create wind issues, or at the least make a long windy drive more annoying?

It has been real good. I expected worse, but only ended up losing 2mpg with it.

What bed rack and roof rack is that? I just signed up for the pre-sale for their new X-cover and this looks like a perfect pair!

It’s a KB voodoo bed rack with a Prinsu on top of it. It worked great for this combo.

The KB stands 10” off the bed, right? Is that enough for the tent to clear the cab? I have a short bed, and the tent is bigger than the bed by a foot and a half, so I figured it would hang over the top of the cab - I was worried about the bedrack height.

Great question.. no.. the KBB is not enough to get the tent to clear the cab. At least not with a rack on the cab as well. I ended up doing a 2-inch spacer to get enough clearance to avoid this issue.

I am annoyed that the video featured the National Park more than the tent. Are they selling a tent or a lifestyle? No meat on the tent's construction.
