GoPro Camera

I'm just now getting interested to install a GoPro camera on the factory mount (2016). My questions are:

Which model?
Do I just slide it on the mount?
Can it film forward and backward?

There are a bunch of different mounts that attach to the gopro that would then just slide into the factory mount.
The camera can only film in one direction.
I have the gopro hero 4 and I've gotten some nice videos with it. Im sure you'd be happy with just about any of their models.

Many dashcams will record toward the front of the vehicle and the back.
