@2002tacomaPDX FYI, all of the rain flys are the same. The tops of the Flippacs are the same, the underneath shell changes depending on the application.

The importation information is whether you are selling a FRP Rainfly (blue) or a SLO Sail rainfly (multiple colors, better materials, better made, and so on). Also, if it's a SLO rain fly, what is the window/vent configuration?

Thanks for the clarification. I am selling a blue FRP rainfly. Considering the SLO is better I will sell mine for $200.

So...anyone know how to make a Flippac that fits a first gen work on a second gen?

They are the same and fit fine. Unless you're confusing "first gen" with pre 1995 Tacoma and it's actually smaller.

The 2015 Flippac I had was bought for a 2nd gen:

Fit on my 1st gen (2003) no problem:

Went back onto a 2nd gen:

Thank you! So it’s safe to assume one off of a 2000’s ford ranger would also fit a second gen?

Now that's questionable. My friend bought a Ranger with Flippac last fall and it had particle board or something to space it up 1/4" to clear the truck cab so I don't know what the differences were in available models of Flippacs for different trucks.

If it isn't that far away, I'd show up and measure twice - maybe even set it on the truck to see how it is.

I only had mine for a few months and never permanently installed it - I just had some c-clamps holding it on and since the 1st gen doesn't have plastic caps on the bed, I had some thin wood slats to protect the metal from rubbing at the fiberglass.

I recommend buying new seals for peace of mind and then drilling through the Flippac and BOLTING it to the bed using *SIX* GCI G33/2 clamps that fit into the side rail inside your 2nd gen bed:

The best price is to contact them directly and purchase from them. I looked at many retailers and GCI's direct price even with shipping was the best.

Thank you! It’s over 500 miles away. May just ask him to pull measurements for me just to be sure. Appreciate all the info! At this point, it may be easier for me just to keep my current rooftop tent.

The only benefit to a Flippac in my mind is if you want MAXIMUM (non-4-season) living space. Great for a living out of, 4x4 vehicle. There are better options on the market (although they cost more): GFC (Go Fast Campers), Vagabond, AT Summit, AT Habitat. I timed the sale of my Flippac quite well and cashed out right before 3 of those 4 were announced. I plan to get the GFC myself to keep the overall weight and size down since my truck doesn't have a supercharger and I'm in the Rocky Mountains where my truck seems to have low power... :/

I’ve seen and laid in a GFC, and it’s just too damn small. 49” wide is tiny for 2, but works well for 1 person.

Also, ETA for one’s ordered now is in MAY!

It may seem a bit tight, but for my uses, I think it's good.
    GFC Bed: 50 x 90"
    Flippac mattress: 53 x 73"

Worst case if you don't want to cuddle up, you can sleep alternating head/toe and shoulder width shouldn't conflict.

I have more Flippac questions - I just put a deposit on one. Here is a picture of the flippac to cab clearance. Looks a lot lower than ones posted above. Any insight?
