Had to take two FNGs on a bay tour. Twin 250s get you there and back pretty fast. Went into the Oakland estuary and saw this baby at Bay Ship boat yard in Alameda. “Balcutha”. Normally seen at Aquatic Park, in San Francisco.

They've been talking about that for a while. Good to see her becoming seaworthy again.

We don’t ever win, hell we’re usually never in the top 50th percentile, but we usually go for the most fun award

Here is a portion of the fleet after rounding the first mark, and wind died. So we just all sat there real close like

Wyoming sailing at its finest! Lol,
The cats/centerboards stared 10min behind the cruisers. And caught up right as it went to 0

Check out recent America’s Cup yachts. Though not a mono hull, they haul the mail but can be a bitch to sail fast and the price of a mistake can be quite high.

Can you imagine a 75 footer like that? Yacht like and computer controlled? Makes a trans Atlantic in like, a quarter of the time

This is the prototype for the next AC. May be more interesting than the cats to watch. Looks more wipeout prone.
We will see it on TV in a couple years. I hope the tech gets cheap enough someday. I would love to see something with foils I could afford. The new Figaro 3 looks interesting buts it doesn’t really fly.
