Ive actually had really good luck with rock auto. A while back I got new rear shocks from them that were supposed to fit but were too short and they actually called me. We had a conversation with me laying under my truck with a tape measure to confirm everything. Immediately after we finished he followed up with an email to return the parts and it was a done deal.

Just my 2 cents but Im sure it varies depending on who you work with

I bought my water pump (same as oem), pulley, tensioner, thermostat, belt and hoses from rock auto a few years ago. Everything fit, can't speak to customer service satisfaction.

I don't buy from Rock Auto a lot but over the years I never once had a problem with any of my orders with them, each one were delivered fast. I have no experience with their customer support as I've never needed it.

I'm glad most of you have had success. I've had good luck with Rock Auto previously too, when I didn't have to contact customer support. I just have an issue with a company that doesn't provide a customer service phone number, not even to a call center in India!! Maybe it's just me but it seems shady and gives the impression that they don't stand behind their company. I'll pay the extra money somewhere else for piece of mind.
