In over 15 years, I've never been haggled for no front license plate. But my wife just got a fix it ticket last week for no front license plate. It really depends on which officer you run into.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

This is where all my front license plates go. My Tacoma, specifically... been driving it for 14 years with no front license plate. Never had a problem.

The ONLY time I have been written for no front license plate was about 20 years ago, when I was racing (more specifically beating)a BMW M3, in my VW Corrado, on 99 at about 11:00 at night. Went under an overpass that CHP was sitting on. The BMW ducked off at the next exit so the CHP got me. He didn't get me on radar so no front license was what he wrote me for.

:gossip: I was doing over 130

I've definitely had front license plate issues with cops. Multiple times. I'm in the East Bay and commute into the city daily so I think they crack down on it a lot for the toll plaza for the cameras and such. I've also got a couple tickets in the city while parked on the street because I had no license plate. Finally bit the bullet and just put it back on. I'd love to not have it, but such is life.

I’ve never ran a front plate. Grew up in the Bay Area, now live up by Sac. Never been pulled over.

So many cars nowadays come out of dealerships with no front plates. I don’t even think it matters anymore unless you’re really driving like a dick.

Right, The City is so expensive that people take off their front plates for aerodynamics and weight reduction to save gas.

The City tickets religiously for no front plate. I carry my front plate in the truck whenever I’m there. A quick zip tie job and no ticket.

I know the meter maids ticket for it but I’m pretty sure the police are too preoccupied with homeless meth heads. Still, I see hundreds of brand new cars with no front plates. Mostly German cars.

I've never not run a front plate. Not sure as to the allure of not running one. If you're trying to hypermile your Tacoma, that's funny...

Run one or don't, your choice. Just don't whine when/if you get lit up.

I don’t think I’ve ever hear of someone taking a front plate of for ‘hypermiling’. Lol It’s either not wanting to drill holes or they like the look of no front plate, which are both aesthetics.

And I don’t think most will whine if they get pulled over, as it’s a fixit ticket. They can just put it on and go get it checked off.

Running no plates have definitely gotten me pulled over, but I always gotten a fix it ticket. Except this one time where I guess I was used as a training excersize because I got pulled over by a rookie with their fto. Found it pretty amusing. But this truck has no decent spot for a front plate so i won't be running one

Never installed mine on the new truck... now I can't even find it, whoops. No front plate got me in trouble in my younger days but hate the look
