If you've ever seen the documentary "Hired Guns" on Nextflix, it made me appreciate Alice Cooper and his road band more. Especially last night when directly compared to a "seasoned" rock n roller who apparently didn't give a shit about his performance.

The documentary focuses on studio musicians who don't really get a lot of recognition publicly, but the big name artists all know their names and use the same people when they tour or record. Alice Cooper was one of the artists that was referenced as the guy that gives a gold seal of approval. If he says you're good, no one will question your musical ability and will be lucky to have you. He also has no problem letting his musicians go if they choose to follow their own path (starting bands, etc.) and does everything he can to encourage it. Other guys are douchebags and will blackball musicians into staying and they basically remain hostage in a band they're not invested in anymore and not really making a lot of money with.
Last night's performance solidified all that. Alice's band was tight as fuck and gave one of the best performances I have ever seen. Ace Frehly clearly just showed up for a paycheck.

 

Oh spit just seeing your posts now Sergio!And Nice!I’ve seen Alice Cooper 3 times in my lifetime and he surely doesn’t disappoint.The last show being the Motley Crue farewell tour.

As far as Ace Frehley his days have been over with decades ago unfortunately.His recovery supposively being sober is a bit to late in resurrecting his career.Back in 2014 he released a album named “Space Invader”.The media and such hyped it up as if Ace was fresh/reborn.Well i wasn’t impressed and especially seeing him on tour for that album(Hollywood Palladium)was awful.When i used to see him on occasional episodes of VH1’s”That Metal Show”you could tell that the drugs lifestyle just devoured him.Sad but hey he’s still alive.Remembering the KISS days is what it’s about.
