Bed bars and basket finally arrived from Kore 4x4, and immediately realized this isn't going to work the way I wanted it to. Was expecting that the 4" underslung basket would truly sit 4-5" below the top of the rack... it doesn't, the drop is actually 6", plus basket, making it closer to 7-8"... so it ends up sitting level with the top of the bed... meaning it would not sit over my tonneau, it would press down into it (low profile cover, but still sits a bit above the bed line). And I don't want to run without a cover.

I'm considering possibly just going in a different direction altogether. Before I contemplate modding this to work the way I want.. is there anyone that could make use of this and want to buy it off me as is? It's 8" bars, with underslung basket, and an antenna/light mount tab.

(No longer for sale, I'm fixing it) Just asking the $*** I paid for it (before shipping... I'll eat the shipping cost); local pickup or meet up with you within a reasonable distance (I'm in Auburn Hills). You'd be saving yourself on shipping cost, 7-8 week lead time, and getting it at the summer promo code discount price that I believe just recently expired.

(It's just mocked up in this picture, it's in three separate pieces - easy to carry/transfer).

Are you handy enough to cut/re-weld the underslung?
If it would fit over my tonneau (soft tri fold), I'd be interested.

Cutting's not a problem, but I haven't welded in many, many, many, years... however, ironically for the past couple of weeks I've been looking at machines, thinking of picking it back up. Maybe this is just a sign to get on that... lol.

It wouldn't work over a soft tri-fold, as those usually sit right on the bed sides (and I didn't order this with his tonneau specific brackets for that style). It will actually take some very minor modifications to my tonnaeu mounting rails to work with mine; it's a low profile that sits just inside the bed sides (the edges of the cover maybe overlap a 1/4"). Mostly just trimming back the weather stripping where it meets the bar brackets, and probably back filling the gaps with a little RTV or something.

You should get back into it! Check out local auctions; there's a bunch of equipment auctions that get advertised all over Facebook; Repocast tends to be a favorite ad they show me.

Ended up picking this up today - should be adequate to get me going again. Going to get some practice in, then see about tackling the rack mods (and also maybe a CMC).

It has begun... basket cut off, legs cut to length and leveled off; old welds ground off; second antenna mount tab fabbed up... now just to get a little welding practice in... then put it all back together.

And fixed. Though I'm still debating on if I want to just go ahead and weld the whole thing together at this point (as opposed to bolting it together, as was designed).

Hey guys, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Josh and I'm new to the forum, although I bought my truck last December.

If anyone in SE Michigan with a 2016+ needs the ECU reflash, I would be glad to help! Did this last night and driveability is definitely improved with the M/T.

Did you ever get your bed bars made up?

I don't gennerally make them, but if it was a simple design, I could fab up some.

I'm in Midland, but travel all over the state.

Nope. The deal I had in place fell through because although I was told shipping was included, it showed up as an addition on the invoice.
My only real need for the bars is to haul kayaks outside of the bed, so it should be simple. It has to be no-drill, and I'd prefer it to be able to be used with a tonneau cover, so some sort of bracket with t-slot nuts would be required.
Does this sound like something you could do? PM me?
They don't even have to be pretty; just functional and sturdy.

I’ve got the @kbvoodoo rack on my rig and love it. Relatively inexpensive, works with my tonneau, and product and service was great. Just my 2 cents
