Seems to have the "shopping cart magnet" modification installed.
This may come in handy if anyone has problems where they want to check out functions or perhaps if they think one of their steering wheel radio control buttons are intermittent.

With your call off, lights off, foot off brake, car in park:

Put key in ignition and turn on power, do not start car.
Wait for radio to come on and past the splash screens.

There are 2 sections - press either the AUDIO or the APPS button as they both displayed different diagnostic sections and continue to hold down the button. Turn headlights on and off 3 times - you can now release the APPS or AUDIO button (whichever you selected).

This worked on my 2014 Tacoma Prerunner with the middle of the road Entune package.

(use at your own risk, for information purposes only, not for human consumption, etc etc etc)

    Thanks for this.
Will the displays disappear after you turn off ignition and turn back on?

That's what I had to do to get it to return to normal. I'm hoping to find some secret combo to unlock a few things or the ability to add programs. I read that the Entune programming is mainly java.

This works on the Prerunner SRS no Nav unit. I don't know what most of the info/screens mean though. Another observation: Holding the power knob for a few seconds will turn the radio off. Turning it back on (again pressing the knob, without turning key off/on) and you can go back into the diagnostics screen(s) using the above method.

Has anyone else had the radio just re-boot as if the ignition had been turned off then on? This happened to me 3 times today, twice in the morning on the way to work, and once at lunch. Has happened a couple times in the past as well. Any ideas?

    I hope I haven't hijacked this thread.

Just thought I'd add some info to this thread. I have a 2013 dcsb with the JBL Entune w/ navigation. The above method works for me with the only difference being that the audio and the setup buttons bring up diagnostic information. To exit the hidden menu, just hold down the Setup button.

Also another menu can be found by
    1) press the setup button
    2) press the general settings button
    3) scroll down to volume settings
    4) choose any of the volume change buttons. (I used Navigation Prompt Volume)
    5) touch the screen in the middle far right side just under the back arrow then touch the screen on the button right corner and continue alternating pressing those two areas of the screen. A hidden menu then pops up.

The first menu allows you to run diagnostics on certain items in your vehicle like check for dead pixels on the lcd, check the microphone functionality, antenna functions + quite a few other things.

The second hidden menu allows you to reset and re calibrate certain things on your head unit. You can actually do a full factory default reset and troubleshooting if your head unit is having issues. Also get information about software versions and hardware information. Lots of menu options. Better to try it out and explore all the options.

I am trying to reset my radio's bluetooth and followed your steps. After selecting the General button, there is a another button with "Set Factory Defaults & Reset Nav Calibr", after that it asks me "Restoring factory defaults requires a system reset. Continue?"

Has anyone gone beyond this point. I would like the factory defaults, except I am not sure about the part that it requires a system reset. Does this require having some type of factory installation disc?

Thank you all for your help!!!!!!

Just returns everything to factory settings and erases any "user" stored information. IE: radio presets, MPG Data, Navigation Presets (Home and destinations).

    You will be fine.

I have reset my unit when bluetooth has stopped woking altogether on me. Followed OP's direction holding down APPS and flicking lights on 3 times. Menu comes up and has INIT button highlighted in red at the bottom. Push and hold it and message pops up asking to "Initialize Personal Data?". Select yes and will reset the unit to all factory defaults. Shut the truck off an on again and all was good. Didn't remove my splash screen either
