Yea it’s been too long! Although sadly summer just came to an end for me. Heading back out to flagstaff, AZ tomorrow morning. This summer has been crazy busy for me. Just got back from up north in the Sierras for a week. Then just wheeled all the cleghorn offshoots last Sunday night. Also going to run the rubicon next week in a buddies SASd 4Runner

Love the st maxx’s. Did a lot of research before picking up a set. First impressions on them were iffy because they felt kinda squirrelly on the freeway compared to the ko2s. I dropped the pressure on them though and after driving on them for a bit they feel very planted now. Haven’t had any traction issues with them either. Quieter than the ko2s also, towards the end they were making lots of road noise. You’ll like the st maxxs!

Here’s some pics from the Sierras, just basic phone pics though. Nothing fancy like your pics :anonymous:

Yea, I saw the Prinsu for our truck but I'm not a huge fan of how high it sits.

So the pics in the OP are the first attempt? I wasn’t aware that BAMF made a relocation for 1st gens. I was looking into their 2nd gen relocation but ended up making my own and going with 2.5x12s.

Looks like you’ve got a nice setup! You’re running 2.5x10s? What does your leaf cycle?

Been following you on Insta for a while, didn't know you had a build thread! Sweet truck my dude!

Wish I could've gotten my hands on a BAMF rear shock bracket, but they're discontinued now. Guess i'm putting them through the bed #fuckit

It does sit very high and wide. I just wanted a low profile more sleek design

    Thanks, yes running 10” 2.5s

    Leafs cycle a clean 10

You can build a crossmember from frame to frame underneath and just tab it yourself... about the same amount of work for me to get the bamf one to work right, ha

Would be cool seeing people who would actually use the rack buy them also, ha

For the most part, I'd use the rack for a solar panel so I don't have to worry about the fridge/freezer killing the battery while out camping. Probably would see the most use from me when I don't have the tent and rack off the bed. So for Rubicon or Moab really.

I was wondering if a straight tube between frame rails would work well. Box the frame in with some plates and weld to them. The trick would be mounting the shock at such an angle. Maybe a square bar would be easier.

Trick is to get the upper shock mounts as far up as possible. So with the bamf mount I actually made it so that the top of it was 1/4” from hitting under my bed to get it as far up as possible. Probably could have gotten closer with a tube now that I’m thinking about it with tabs but oh well...

    Thank you much appreciated!

    Much appreciated!:hattip:

Took a bit longer than I originally thought but most things do I suppose ...

hell yeah man, those are awesome photos. Is that up near Laurel Lakes? That bottom one looks like the campsite I stayed at off of that trail last May.

    Well its been awhile.

-Did the tundra 231mm brake upgrade with the power stop calipers and rotors. Had a bit of an issue with a soft pedal but after getting the air out of the abs pump it feels slightly better

-extended my front diff breather and also the t case breather

Well, after much thinking and a hard decision I’ve decided to let my first gen go. This was due to the fact that commuting back and forth between az and SoCal was putting a lot of miles on the truck and needed something with a little better gas mileage. Truck was my first build and definitely won’t be the last.

    Next vehicle will most likely be a 4th gen t4r V8 4wd
