So my uca have been squeaking like crazy to the point I got a new set. Now with the new set I have the same problem of squeaking. I was wondering for who has installed there’s did you place the rod downward how it came from the factory or upward since it was 100x times easier to install?

Just for reference here mine are currently upward thread copilot side. Before I go at it I want to see if what you guys have to say. Thank in advance!

You need to lube the ball joint and the use the zerks to grease the bushings

Uniballs squeak, get some triflow ptfe lubricant, and keep the poly bushings greased. If you dont care for the squeak, get a ball joint style arm

sorry I should’ve mentioned that I have done it all. Regreased through zerk fitting just how they instruct and with pressuring bolts. Spray the uniball with ptfe. Uninstalled reinstalled multiple times as total chaos tells me when I call them. I gone through it all in Tacomaworld.

Yeah unforunately, squeakiness is just the nature of the beast. If you arent running extended travel coilovers, there really isnt any need for a uniball style arm. A balljoint uca would probably serve you well, although the squeak really isnt anything to worry about. I drive the hell out of my truck and the tc ucas are super strong. Never had any issues

Even SPC and moog joints give enough travel for extended coils.

Uniballs are for racing. They are overrated.

Thats what ive heard as well. Seems like a good balljoint is the way to go. Sealed units with little maintenance that are likely to last longer. Still love my TC though. Thanks for chiming in on this:thumbsup:

Sorry to hear about the squeaks. I noticed back in April you had the pivot thru-bolt loosen up. Did you replace the bushings after? The extra deflection and deformation of the bushing could have caused un-seen damage. This would certainly cause some squeaks and creaks.

Regarding the UCA Pivot Bolt, we recommend installing with the bolt head facing towards the front of the vehicle. If for some reason the nut backs off you don't have to worry about the bolt falling out.

May be your springs squeaking in the cup because they twist slightly as they compress. My OME 90021 with medium load springs squeak sometimes

When you start putting all the goodies on your truck, squeaks start to accumulate. Just the nature of the beast.

I've seen some prerunners, 6100s, etc that sound hella clapped out when they are pulling them off the trailer, but it's just all the shit that comes with #racetruck

I get that but some days the slightest movement of the steering wheel makes them squeak. Just sucks I though they were the “best”.
Wish I had a prerunner :mudding:

I have a 2nd gen and couldn't get rid of a squeak when i installed a new lift and camburg arms. Turned out my spring from the coilovers was rubbing on the sway bar. Probably not your issue but just throwing it out there.

Prerunners still need a 4wd once in a while!

They got bogged in the sand and we had to give them a yank!

I forgot to mention that it is ONLY the right side that squeaks!
