Those engineers probably don't even know how to drive a manual, much less enjoy it.

People in this thread have even said that service people at their dealership can’t even drive manuals. WTF? You would think they should be required to know. Idiot.

I have no idea what they were thinking for us or the ATs. It's like they wanted folks to be unhappy. I almost want to drive around with some sort of sign since for the majority of Taco folks that aren't on TW.

Yes! It feels nice being fixed!

Do I need to download drivers from Tactrix or are the necessary drivers automatically installed when I plug in the openport module?

Get the drivers from Tactrix. Windows won't have the right ones. The driver DL and installation take a fraction of the time that TS does.

Yep. That's the ticket bois. I dropped my phone and cracked the screen during the flash process but it was worth it, lol. That low-mid (1500-3000 rpm) pull is way smoother. It's not more power but delivery is linear and smooth like it always should have been. If I'm being honest it didn't bother me that much. It never felt right but I learned to accept it. In fact for awhile I figured it was just a characteristic of the motor but it was probably just the tune. Either way someone at Toyota knew exactly what the issue was and fixed it or sufficiently masked it to make it no longer an issue. Simple as that. Do highly recommend for anyone on the fence. If you think you need this, you need this.

I totally get what you mean about it not being linear. Bothers me but I learned to accept it. Excited to get mine flashed next weekend.

Has anyone tested out the DFCO with this new tune? Just curious if they changed any of that.

After you guys get some miles on, can you do a mileage test? I see some have seen a few report significantly less fuel econ. I think that's expected until the ECU learns (and you quit ripping around ).

Tacoma is my DD and I have been getting 22-23 tank average this summer. I'd be pissed if that dropped to 19-20.

I think a few have mentioned a few MPG drop. I didn’t see anyone point to significant loss of MPG’s. I think the people that have mentioned losses would still trade losses for new tune any day.

not tracking data but it appears I've made a solid gain of 1mpg. but i don't seem to drive like most and i use the throttle. a lot. in other words I'm going from about 17.5avg to 18.5 or thereabouts.

Engine braking and DFCO feel about the same. I will say that rev hang feels a bit more natural now.

I'm seeing the same with a lot less swing. Going to fill up and go on a highway drive with the fam. I will note what I find.

Just a small heads up. Doing @WaTaco2018 's update with the TS version, we could easily update his ECU but could not check any customizations. Thankfully, Cariata was there to save the day. We made a few quick changes.

Also digging around, I could not find a way to kill the key in chime. Oh well. . .
