4 banger prerunner

Anyone else consider turning their 4 cyl into a trail runner with long travel/bed cages ect?
There's some first gens out there but not many second gens and with the reliability and lighter weight it seems like a decent idea, anyone want to weigh in on this?

 

I'm running the Baja Kits +2 LT kit on my truck, and I'm about to take the truck in to have the Camburg SUA rear suspension installed.

So far I like it, but I've only driven it on the street so far. There have been a few issues but nothing wrong with the kit.

When I ordered my coilovers, I had Baja Kits put on 700# springs instead of their usual 600# springs, but the 4 cylinder AC isn't heavy enough to warrant 700# springs even with an aluminum plate bumper, winch, sliders, and steel IFS skid. To me the ride didn't feel too harsh, but I was sitting too high. My installer didn't adjust my coilovers at all, and I had basically no down travel when I picked the truck up from him. I adjusted the coilovers as low as possible and was still too high, so I just put on 600# springs. I set the collars to where they were when I originally received them, and I'll adjust from there once the rear suspension is finished.

One of my reservoir hoses was rubbing on the UCA when I picked the truck up, so I had to fix that. From what I've read on here, it's not an uncommon issue. However, according to Baja Kits, King's solution is to hit it with a rubber mallet to bend the fitting. That's ghetto AF, so I made a tool to bend it properly.

My last issue is that my installer welded the adjustable limit strap hangers wrong, so I need to have that redone. My installer said he'd take care of it for me, but I haven't had time to set it up with him to get it done.

5lug with a 6lug long travel kit ?.....

 

Its a six lug, hard to see all 6 lugs on the wheels due to a bad angle. You can see on the bedsides he used to have fender flares
