    I don't see where Tacomas are excluded from use. The site does say the MT 85 is recommended for GL-4 applications. I would not hesitate to use it. I have thought about using it in mine, but the thought "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind. It cured a problem I had on a previous truck.

    Sorry for the late update. But I ended up replacing the transmission and transfer case with MT 85 and that fixed the issues. I think the problem was being caused by the thicker MT 90 combined with our cold winters which was not lubricating well. Honestly, I have owned this truck for 10 years and the transfer case has never been this quick and reliable. No more pulling over trying to get the four wheel drive to engage/disengage.
