Smokers are fired up! 3 briskets trimmed and injected, 2 big 'ol pork shoulders about to get rubbed. I'll be getting there early and putting @RickS 's beef ribs on the keg smoker .

That sounds great to me. We are already more from RTIC for our stock.

 

So how did the fundraiser go?

 

It went really, really well. We didn't nail the food quite like we wanted - being a man down was tough - but it still turned out great. I'm probably being hypercritical. The brisket was tasty and moist, it just didn't quite hold a slice like it normally does. I was a little late getting @RickS 's beef ribs going, so he had to take it to go. Hopefully it came out alright! Chicken, pork, and pork belly were all tasty.

Biggest thing, though, is that the fundraising aspect greatly exceeded expectations. I gave an update in a livestream on Facebook about Kaelyn and how much money was raised. I struggled to get through it, because I was getting a little emotional. I haven't finished the exact math (need to compile the funds from multiple income streams), but we will be providing Brandon and his family over $2,500 to help with Kaelyn's medical bills. The support for this event was extraordinary. I know Brandon was taken aback, too.

It's a very informal event, but we love doing it every year. Thanks to all on here that contributed and a big thanks to @RickS for making the journey to see us again! We had some raffle winners from the site as well! I'll be working on getting those prizes shipped out this week!
