If you were in fantasy land and could design a Tacoma EXACTLY as you please, what would you spec?

Ive owned several vehicles since 1995.
1986 2x4 long box f150. 1988 2x4 short box ranger. 4x4 ranger. 1995 Jeep Gr Cherokee. 2000 4x4 Silverado ext cab short box WT. 2014 Silverado dbl cb short box lt. Now the 2017 taco ORDCSB 4X4.

I would go poly body panels, garden hose washable interior with floor drains. Keep the crawl/mts/ & rear locker, perhaps add front locker. Frame mounted sliders, steel front and rear bumpers with lift points and shackles.
For 1986 F150 nastalgia, could we make it with NO computers? My '14 Silverado was pagued by elec gremlins.
Not sure which engine. I am a very novice gear head. Why not an engine similar to GM 5.3 liter V8 which shut down 4 cylinders at HWY speed?
Would also spec a cab with tad more head room and possibly a height adjustable seat.

Probably opening MAJOR can of worms here....
Bored on a long car ride here.

Just like the third gen but have a 4.6 V8 option and front/rear lockers.

    Great thread, OP!

6.4 Hemi in a 3rd gen body, with a Mopar 8-speed auto. Paint it up like a Super Bee, and give it a big ol' (functional) hood scoop. Maybe a "Street LETHAL" (instead of "street legal") decal for the back window.

Assuming all that power wouldn't twist the frame like a pretzel, that thing would be like a grounded rocket ship on the highway.

EDIT: As long as I'm imagining midsize trucks with ridiculous engines, why not put a Viper's V10 in there instead? It would be like that V10 truck that Dodge made, but in a cooler body.

Ah shit. I’ve been down the “let’s fabricate and put all the money I make into components” road. The ‘17? I’ll have a coke. It’s bitchin as is.

Manual transfer case like the 4runners have, less computers on the 4wd system and a dual transfer case!

Not exactly a Tacoma, but a Camry-based ute with the V6 would be the bee's knees. It would be kind of like the Subaru Baja.

More options for OEM roof racks (current design, cross bars like Thules, Prinsu-type designs, etc.)

Oh yeah. In fact, I actually have a Dodge seat cover on my Taco's driver's seat.

I would have to change gear ratios in tranny an add turbo.
