I finally got around to making a cover for my winch rope. I went to an upholstery shop and had them cut me out a section of a scrapped convertible top. Pretty happy with how it came out.

I used the long weekend off from school to build my bed rack and mount my RTT in time for Fall camping season! I'm very happy with how square the whole thing turned out by doing it all by hand. I notched the pipe with a hole saw on the dill press so I got almost a perfect notch every time. Squeezed it all together with the big ratchet straps to make it fit as snug as possible and burned it all together. The rack is just tall enough to allow my bed extender to flip in and out, which is a huge plus! :woot:

My leaf springs REALLY hate me now, so I have some Chevy donor springs in my shop waiting for me to have time to add them to my stock pack. I'm not sure when I'll get around to that since I'm away at college for the semester. I'll need to find another weekend I'm not busy to drive back home and get that done I guess.

Damn that's a beefy setup. How did you bend them?

A friend had them in his shop for a bed rack, but he never got around to building it so he gave them to me. It’s all 1-1/4” Sch 40 pipe so it’s pretty stout. I didn’t want my tent held up with dinky little pipes

I noticed some corners on my RTT cover that were being stretched pretty badly, so I came up with what I think to be a clever way to combat this problem and prevent a hole in the future. I used some left over convertible top material from my winch cover and some contact cement to attach it to the inside of the tent cover. The cover is the most poorly reviewed part of this RTT, but I hope I can improve its lifespan with some more of these patches.

Visited the Rendezvous in the Ozarks and had the first shakedown with the RTT. I loved it! I figured out some ways to make it more comfortable for next time, and I can't wait to go camping with it again soon. There just so happened to be a fly-in happening this weekend as well, so I got to see a few cool planes too :) I didn't take hardly any photos of what we were doing, but I'll share what I got.

I started using the Gaia app for trail navigation and it was awesome. I should have bought this subscription a long time ago! I bought a cheap suction mount to use as a trial. I'm now going to order an X grip iPad mount.

We camped with an awesome group from PF Adventure, a company based in the Tulsa area that sells a whole lot of overlanding gear. They were displaying gear on new Tacomas and 4Runners and I caught a serious case of the "I wants." I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to BS around the campfire with. Oh, and @Pistol Pete and @PinnaclePete were there too :)

    IMG_6109.jpg

I've never seen so many rigs parked so close together, but space was at a premium at this event! Finally, I was included in the RTT gang

    IMG_6103.jpg IMG_6108.jpg IMG_6094.jpg
Here are the only pictures I took on the trails... Some were mild, some were more technical.

    IMG_6097.jpg IMG_6101.jpg IMG_6100.jpg

Finally I got tired of looking at trucks with big tires so I went to look at planes with big tires

I was very concerned about the upside down Jeep for a second...

Looks like a fun trip. I definitely want to go back there!

Are those trails car wash falls and falling water road? I had a couple GPX files of places I wanted to hit on my way home from Moab last year and those were on the list. Just ran out of time on the journey back so I couldn't.

One of the waterfalls is Falling Water Falls, but we didn’t run Car Wash Falls on this trip. I actually haven’t even done that one...yet

Mine threw the same codes a few years ago. Start with cleaning your MAF sensor and resetting the ECU. It requires a specific cleaner to prevent damage.

Mine actually did wind up being the downstream 02 sensor though which is the first time on any vehicle I've ever owned that an O2 sensor code was actually the O2 sensor. I put in an Auto Zone special and it lasted for about a year. Ordered Toyota OEM online and haven't had another issue from it.

Tried to clean the MAF yesterday and realized that it is held in with brass screws...ugh. Those things stripped faster than a $2 hooker. Now I'm going to have to wait until mid December to get the truck back to Texas to clean it because all my tools are in the shop at home.
