Good question. The screws the dealer uses are self tapping screws with wide threads that tear up the bumper when they go in. They work pretty well the first time you use them but each time you use them afterwards it makes them a little weaker as the hole becomes slightly more enlarged. The ones I send are fine thread stainless steel so they will not grip the same way that the self tapping screws do, so it became necessary to add something to make sure it stays on. I include a washer and a lock nut for the back so that you will not have to worry about it coming loose once it was installed. I wanted a product that while taking a little bit longer to mount, would be very strong and sturdy once it was mounted. Sort of the do it once, do it right philosophy. I like using the socket cap screws as it adds a little extra security since it is unlikely that someone will be carrying that tool around with them if they wanted to steal a plate.

Just installed the flush mount plate with a license plate frame. Super happy with how it came out. Definitely recommend this upgrade!

Thanks @ACEkraut! Nice product and quick delivery! Huge improvement over the clunky black OEM bracket.

Had to drill significantly bigger holes in the bumper to fit the hardware but it’s on there solid now and looks awesome :D

So can you post a pic of what you get with tag holder? I'm assuming it's not a big I stall ? I'm in va so I have to have a front rag.
