Would you mind re-linking the leaderboard so I don’t have to search back through? I never did get an email about it.

    Thanks.

I mean the foam gasket that seals the side panel to the tube frame. The top of that gasket is cut at an angle and gets pinched between the hinge and the tube frame. That forms a dam that prevents the capillary action from pulling water along the hinge/tube interface. I’ll get a photo of it in the morning.

So all this talk of corrosion and water intrusion got me wondering about alternative materials. Disclaimer: I am not a fabricator, and had to google what "DOM" meant when selecting sliders. Would it be possible to make the frame out of aluminum tubing? I expect that it would be more expensive, perhaps less able to carry weight on top of the tent, and might need some extra bracing, but is it technically possible? On the up-side it might be even lighter. I'm going to be back in the northeast when I make my purchase - otherwise known as The Great Wet - and would be interested in exploring the possibilities.

It’s technically possible. But for a structure that flexes a lot, which all of these campers do when you drive them off road, a welded aluminum structure is not what you want as it will fatigue crack eventually. There is a tiny bit more maintenance required for steel but you get a structure that’s perfectly suited for an off road camper chassis in exchange. Spray a corrosion inhibitor in the accessory holes from time to time and you’ll be fine.

IMO, the more factory installed accessory mounting points the better. I definitely wouldn't like to retrofit points as it would require either welding tabs or drilling and tapping into the engineered and powder coated frame

Me too but no number yet. Looks like maybe 188 when the numbers are updated. Build date in March.

Yeah from the email they sent me they think it should be started on February 18th. I'm hoping they pickup a few more staff members so the build time speeds up

I just have the order confirmation email that says order #1040.

Haven’t gotten any info since then. 8/16/18. I know the website says to expect an email in 7-10 business days or something like that.

I first ordered mine on July 30th and they sent me an order # 00249. Since then I have only received one email with the leaderboard attached, nothing more though.

I ordered mine 08/07/18 and it was order number 260. I did get my email with the link to the leaderboard 7 days later. I'm thinking with the revamped website they switched to the numbering scheme for orders starting at 1000.

@wileydavis is there a definitive list of 1st gen and new gen bolt patterns and holes? I’d really like to put in some plug into my empty frame holes to prevent rust and stuff but want to make sure I’m buying the right stuff. Or I think a small kit to purchase soho be great as well and some of these grade 8 style products are much lower priced if you buy more than a few at a time.

    Thanks

Sorry I missed your post. We will be putting together an upgrade kit with accessory hole plugs and the zinc mounting hardware. It'll probably be a week or two before we start sending them out but Elise will be tracking down who need what and putting those in the mail.

    It's DLX son!
I selected it as an option a few weeks ago when they started my build. Have not heard if it's something that will be ready at time of pick up (1st week Sep) or not. Here's hoping.

Has the lighting kit not been going out on any of the recent builds or are you guys asking about retro-fits for early lighting kit customers?

Also - Metric Hondo Nutz appear to still be available on hondogarage, if you want to keep your collection all the same thread.
