Anti-slip warning light

The check engine light and the anti-slip warning both came on today. What exactly does that indicate. I would like to have some knowledge about it and not go to the dealer blindly. Thanks!

 

Check engine light could be for maintenance (oil change).
My slip light was just on because my alignment was all thrown off. Fixed now, light off.

 

Not sure of your exact situation, never had both come on. I did have an issue with the VSC light coming on after an alignment. Simple reset and it was good to go. My initial thought is possibly something with the ABS system.

 

I thought that it was weird that they both went on at the same time.

 

Anything different as far as driving conditions or maintenance recently performed? I'm not really one to give advice on mechanical issues, but the VSC (traction light) is a finicky system on the 12-15, and imagine up through the 18s. They is the yaw rate sensor which is what caused my light to come on. Simple recalibration to fix that issue.

The best advice i can give it to hook it up and scan it. Should give a code, and then you know the problem, and can figure out how to fix it. I would go to somewhere other than a dealership to get it read though. Maybe a friend with OBD-2 reader. It could be something simple and you could save a bit of money DIY.
