When I went to go remove my rear most bump stop and the second I did I heard the nut fall down into the lca. Any ideas how to fix this?

There's no nut, it just threads on and off. I just took both of mine off a couple weeks ago to replace them with new ones; the new ones go in the same way (just screw in). Nothing on the end of the bolt.

Did a small piece of the bolt break off and fall in?

That is, unless there's something different about other model year's front bump stops. Only trouble I had with mine was that one side had a cross threaded bolt, but there was nothing on either one that could have fallen in.

2nd Gen has a nut tack welded to the inside. Mine came off, I was able to get a nut and wrench inside through another hole. Different setup I believe but might be possible.

It's hard to see but it should be there, that's the only way the go on/off is by twisting them into place.

There'd be no way to get a nut onto the end of the bolt, you can't go up from underneath the LCA as there's no opening on the bottom of it.

Ah, maybe that's what we have...that would make sense. Maybe that's what fell off on the OP's and is inside the LCA now. If that's the case, only way to get it out would be to get something long and magnetic to pull it out...like a snake tool with a magnetic end to it? I know they make something like that for when you drop things in hard to reach places in the engine bay.

One of my original interior weld nuts busted off too. I ended up drilling a hole in the bottom of the LCA and through-bolting the bump stop on. I read somewhere that these came with a 12 mm bolt, but 10 mm fit mine better. Then, the supplied bolt must be JIS because my hardware store 10.9 had a bigger head. That meant the larger socket wouldn't fit down into the bump stop. Luckily (first bit on this), the bolt head didn't turn as I tightened the nut. I don't like having the extra hole in the LCA, especially right below where it will take hits. But, I'm confident there's enough meat that the LCA won't fold up because of the new hole. There's also a new nut hanging down into precious ground clearance but whatever. I thought about rivet nuts but didn't trust them in this high impact application. I'm not enough of a welder to do much good on this, especially while the LCA is on the vehicle. Having just replaced the LCA bushings and steering rack, I wasn't looking forward to taking it out again. Compared to the hockey puck bump stops I had before, these appear to be a big improvement so I'd say the whole project is worth it.
