Lmao all the threads i make are questions. Anyways, for those of you who have the manual, at what speeds do u usually shift into the next gear. Specifically for the break-in of the taco. Not tryna ruin anything when I get the truck. Also how should I downshift for the break-in. I dont think trying to rev-match is gonna be good for the truck before 1,000 miles. and wish me good luck for my first college class in 7 hours :)

I did a hard break in. Once oil was up to temp I did a few redline pulls. Wanted to see how it would affect power and fuel econ as some people believe hard break ins are better for engines. Some say modern engines don't care how you drive them from the start and some still believe what's in the manual is the best for the engines. It's really up to you. I've had over a dozen new vehicles and have done it both ways, hard and easy for 1000 miles.

Rev matching on a new engine is one of the best things you can do. The back torque loads the rings and helps set everything, as well as the vacuum sucking oil/metal off the cylinder walls. The first 50 miles are the most important.

Moderately hard pulls in 2nd and 3rd gear with no bogging with deceleration using no braking is the best way to break a new motor in.
