Adding power to an X-Runner?

    Since I am new here and haven't had a lot of time to read through various post/threads, I was wondering. Is it possible to build any form of power in a relatively stock X-runner with a limited budget, say 2000.00 max.

    Or going a step further, a question for the people that may have done this, is there a good platform/foundation to start with on a limited budget that can be added to/built upon as money becomes available.

    Just trying to get a good understanding/education to start with and not throw money away.

    Thank you for any and all insight on this matter

    You can buy a turbo setup if you live in a non emissions state. For about $1,000 more you can get a bolt on SMOG legal Magnuson supercharger.

    TRD Supercharger, 20x8.5 KMC wheels
    Day late, hopefully not a dollar short:

    Pardon the obvious answer, but I'm a simple person and perform simple mods on my '07 BSP X.

    Thus, for me, the "simplest" answer to the above was to squirrel money for the TRD Supercharger, installed. Again, I choose not to wrench on my own these days, so had others install it. YMMV. My first years of ownership, I wanted this but couldn't justify it, to 93K miles(!).

    Early '14, a big bonus at a tech company made the above a no-brainer. There are innumerable threads about different supercharger setups so won't go into benefits/hazards of the TRD vs. others; suffice to say it worked for me. Oddly enough, a local Toyota dealer I more-or-less trust had about three of them onsite, and their techs plenty of experience on installation. That went fine. Total cost w/tax in WA State was $5,800. "Worth it" is subjective, 23K miles later I love it and wouldn't be happy w/o that extra pull. Nothing blown up yet, nor seems like it will in the near future.

    That's another option, just saying.
