I have new TRD Sport, I'm looking at getting a bed mat for it. My question how easy would it be for someone to take it since I don't have a bed cover? Is there anyway to secure it? How do they hold up to extreme heat? Phoenix.

    Thanks

Drill holes in it and use the rear anchor points to secure it to the bed if you are worried. I had one in my 07 for 11 years with no cover and no one ever touched it and it never came out in hurricane force winds.

I live in a hot area and have had no problems with mine. It’s one of the best “mods” you can do. I don’t think it’s possible to secure it because it’s rubber and can easily be cut if you try to anchor it to the bed. I doubt it would be a popular thing to steal though.

It's freaking heavy and floppy so it's awkwardly difficult to carry (especially the long bed version), so if they were going to take it they'd immediately have to throw it into another truck. You just don't walk off with one - you gotta TRY.

My Tacoma has a cover but I had a bed mat in my S-10 without a cover for 10 years and it held up fine in central NC with many summer days near 100.

I love the OEM bed mat. It holds things in place in the bed. People will find away to steal anything from your truck if the opportunity is right. I haven’t had a problem with mine.

I'm not sure people are looking to steal bed mats. They are pretty bulky. Nobody has messed with mine.
And they are only $90 or so. Not a high dollar item.

There’s really nothing stopping someone from taking it outside of the fact they’re somewhat awkward to carry alone. I’ve never seen anyone do it, but you could possible drill holes in it and secure it using the bed bolts if they’re long enough, but that seems a little extreme.

Yeah, don't worry about people taking it or the longevity. Do, however, get the Westin mat instead of the Toyota one unless you value logos more than saving money.

Most theft will be for higher cost and easy to remove and hide items like audio systems, tailgates, aftermarket rims etc.
Admittedly, the mat is easy to remove, but a thief will likely be selling it for 20-40 at most, which makes the risk vs benefit a bit unbalanced.

A bed mat is likely the best ~$100 you'll spend on mods...and as far as durability, they are essentially bulletproof.

I bought mine from a seller here on TW, I think I paid $90 or so, included shipping, thought it was a good deal
compared to the ones on ebay and Amazon, and it was a LB
