Mine is definitely different from you guys. My truck drives smooth up until I apply the brakes. Feels like my brakes have 100k miles on them and the pads never replaced.

Yeah, my braking is pretty smooth except for sometimes I'll get the steering wheel shakes when braking from high speeds. Doesn't happen every time. Pedal feel and braking in general was much better after I had my drums adjusted.the TSB does mention braking or low speeds, it isn't exclusive.

OK, that TSB that is listed in this thread could fix it. Have you read it. Sound like what your's is doing?

Hey guys. Ok, so I picked her up this morning. Both sides of the rear axle were replaced, front brakes cleaned and adjusted, rear drums checked for drag. I drove 20 miles after picking up, driving through town and for two highway exits.
    • Overall braking feels like a brand new truck. This seemed to be more related to my rear drums having to be adjusted when I went in last week, but maybe some of the weirdness was related to this TSB. Pedal height perfect, smooth, still that one notch click at the top of the pedal but come to conclusion this is normal based on the other tacos I drove in the past week. Did some hard braking and didn't feel any serious shudder. Not noticing any drag, gas mileage is fine (+20) and touch test of the drums seems normal.
    • Deceleration "rumble" at low speeds did NOT go away. Accepting this as normal at this point, again, based on the other tacos I drove in the past week. Will I ever get over it? No. Will I bring it up again? Probably not. The driveline rumble was mentioned on my paperwork but they said no TSB for my VIN and was within normal conditions.
    • Rear-end howl at low speeds seems to have disappeared. Slight howl still present at highway speed. I'll have to drive more to be sure
If anything pops over over the next week, I'll report back, but right now braking seems good and HOPEFULLY the low-speed howl is gone.

Thanks man! Sounds like the rumble is just "normal" until it's addressed somehow. Not a big deal though, especially if it doesn't negatively impact anything.

Shudder/rear-end vibes has returned when braking at highway speeds. Is this a symptom of warped drums? It doesn't necessarily happen when hard-pressing the brake, I could barely press it and the rear starts to shake a bit. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it's smooth as butter. Not sure what else could be going on.
