Just did the same thing today, but the difference for mine was that I chose a white LED voltmeter, and I added a switch to add an always on and accessories on mode. The "always on" mode lets me see the voltage if the keys are in or not and the "accessories on" mode lets me see the voltage only when the key is turned to accessories or the car is on. The switch also has an off mode in case I don't want the voltmeter on at all. Here are some pics.

Yeah! Mine doesn't actually have a clock in the casing. Just unused cutouts for buttons. I checked behind today while installing my stereo and saw that it had the harness that plus right into the empty clock housing.
Hopefully these are the right photos from before. I thought I took one of it dangling out of the clock cutout today. Hmm...

You Sir, are Awesome! I stumbled on this thread looking for a way to monitor my battery voltage and said "Why Not?" I couldn't find the exact one you used, but did find this one which works just fine (https://www.ebay.com/itm/203938887981). When I first bought my '03 it was my first vehicle with a clock and thought it was cool. But after a few years of tinkering, disconnecting the battery, resetting, etc I stopped paying any attention to it. This utilizes that spot PERFECTLY! Thank you SO MUCH!!

Check out the Ultragauge! They've been talked about pretty extensively on here before but basically it plugs into your OBDII and reads stats from your ECU. I have mine set up to read Engine Temp, Trans Temp, and Battery Voltage plus my instant and average fuel mileage. You can even set alarms on the different readouts for example if my battery falls below 11.5 volts the little screen will start beeping, useful for playing the radio with the engine shut off or powering other things without killing your battery

Say.......that is pretty neat, and very affordable too! I'm still on my honeymoon with the $5 voltage mod, but will consider this when it's over ;-)
