Anyone been up there during winter time ? I can't guarantee snow at that time. Those who have been there, how did your 4wd vehicle /Tacoma do ? I haven't driven in snow in over 15 years, and its flat as a pancake where we live. We deal with mud down in Florida, not snow
Should I take a pair of chains with me? My wife is overreacting, chains, this and that. I figure I have the fat 305/65/17 KO2's on the truck and should be ok when I air down. Pls let me hear your opinions
    Thanks, Freddie

Nah, you'll be fine. Winter around here doesn't really get started until January.

    4x4 will be just fine

I think you'll be just fine with 4wd and a set of tires with decent tread. Winter in these parts isn't that bad.

Tell the Mrs. to enjoy the scenery, its beautiful country up there!

Snow, no problem. Ice or freezing rain? You'll need studs or chain.

The truck's abilitiy won't be a problem. It's as good as any other well equipped vehicle in the snow. Most accidents in the winter are the direct result of opperator error. Don't be "that guy". Refresh your memory by reading up on winter driving skills.

Edit: I'm not picking on you. I've been driving in the snow for 25 seasons and I still have to refresh my snow driving memory every year season.

Phsycle just brought up a good point, freezing rain and ice. I totally forgot about that. Hard to predict what I am going to face up there. I'll be as prepared as I can. You make a lot of sense Mtn Mike.
    Thanks guys.
