Which TRD skid plate are you referencing? The one created and sold by a fellow TW'ian?

I'll be 100% honest. I'm not sure. I personally haven't fit one up with that skid on.

It might, I'm not 100% sure how different it is from a mobtown skid but it fits with my mob town no problem.

that just goes into the two existing bolt holes which are only attached to the sub frame/rad support. No where close to as strong as this. And after seeing failed rigging a rated point is invaluable to me vs 'it should be strong enough'
Its two holes. I know someone else that has it. Honestly would not trust it if you're really stuck and what not.
If you don't plan on having much of any hard use it might be fine, but if you plan on being really stuck in snow or mud I wouldn't trust it.
The ARB ties back into the frame in 2 different spots and has 3 bolts in the front.

Oh and the guy that has that SOS one has the TRD Pro skid, he had to trim it to fit around the recovery point, and he welded his on as well to help strengthen it.

Glad to hear it fits with mobtown skid as mine will be here Saturday. :bananadance:

I'm 99% sure on the product PDF for the recovery point it says it's compatible with ARB and OEM skids.

Yes it fits with the TRD pro skid plate it is on mine, acutally I am impressed with that skid, it is still going strong after a lot of off road miles, bumps, hits, etc.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Done and done, my friend. Stupid DropBox screwed me when they changed their hosting policies and I've been trying to find/migrate all the broken links that are still out there.

    Thanks for the heads-up!

Awesome write up, thanks for the info. I have had my recovery point for a while now. Waiting to put it on with the new bumper so it should be much easier.

Easy install other than that goofy nut on a stick. There are no fit issues with the TRD Pro skid. Only unexpected issue was that the recovery point partially covers one of the splash guard holes. So I drilled a new one to keep the bottom of my rad rubber splash guards secure.312C1B81-2540-45E5-BEE9-2E83BF2A8398.jpg
