in my experience, they have always been more frighened of me. as a bowhunter, i have gotten very close. i have never felt "in danger". but i wouldnt corner one.

They are more frightened of us, that is why they will attack you, fear biting. Ever try to pet a scarred dog... Only difference between the dog and pig is the pig can have 4" razor sharp tusks.

Wild hogs are bad news. A friend of mine has lost 2 or 3 dogs to them. He uses the dogs when he hunts and the hogs have gutted more than one of his dogs.

yes, this is rough on the dogs. no armored vest?
but i'm willing to bet, more hogs have gone down due to dogs than the other way around. running after a dog pack is a RUSH!

I have a cousin that lives just north of Kingwood, TX and has around 10 acres. He and his sons love going hunting at night for wild pigs. Here is a picture they took one night from a stationary camera....

There considered so much of a problem in Alabama, that the Alabama Fish and Game division has a program in the works that will allow helicopter hunts in certain parts of the state. The state has conducted research and determined that 1 hog can cause about $4000 in damage to crops each year. Now consider how many hogs are currently living, and how many offspring a hog can have, need I say more. The state will hold drawings each month for for any registerd hunter to win the chance to ride in choppers over designated areas to kill an many hogs as possible, the only drawback is that you have to supply your own ammo.

I watched a one hour show on TV last night called "Pig Bomb" which showcased this amazing growth in wild hogs.

Experts are speculating that the introduction of Russian boars into the wild-pig gene pool may be creating a new kind of super aggressive wild hogs

Watch part of it here for free:

the real way to do it would be with a set of 14's over one eye and PEQ on your rifle. Much faster than looking through a scope, they wouldnt stand a chance.
