I just bought a Tacoma 2015 TRD Sport truck with 23 k miles on it from a private party. The traction control light was on when I bought it. I asked why the owner said The light has been on for a long time and said the truck runs beautiful. After purchase I took the truck to my mechanic, he put it on a computer and the code read Sterring angler sensor. He said he calibrated the sensor and said, here’s the wait and see part. Wait and see if the light comes back on. If it does then you have a future repair problem. If it doesn’t come on then you should be good. The light hasnt came on. I then reached out to the original owner . He said the light came on one year ago while towing a recreational trailer. First of all the guy is a dumb ass for using a light duty truck to tow a trailer. Secoundly im a bigger dumb ass for buying it. I’m taking it to the dealer where he purchased it to have it checked out. Am I overreacting? I’m worried now!

Welcome to TW! Sounds like waiting is fine for now as long as the truck is running well.

    Welcome!

Sounds like it’s not a big issue. I would wait and see if the light comes back on. If it doesn’t then problem solved.
