Nice, I used to be the outside sales rep for Diamond Back (Derby Cycles) in the late 90's. I still have what was at the time their top of the line full sus. XC bike (which wasn't very top of the line at all). They were at the time under the same umbrella as Raleigh and Mongoose but it looks like they are making some pretty high end stuff these days. I made a fortune selling $200 Raleigh M20 bikes by the truckload. Pretty much all I did with that bike was put it on my roof rack for appearances, my personal ride was a custom Litespeed hardtail.

Mine was a Diamondback Ascent with the old-school rapid fire shifters. That was one durable bike; I had scars all over that thing from rock walls, trail boulders, etc. Put three sets of tires on it in about 4 years, plus god knows how many tube patches/replacements, plus brakes and a fresh set of pedals. I must have put a couple thousand miles a year on it

Well heck. It's just too nice out. Guess I'll charge the batteries and fire up the drone.

    So completely random question.
Does anyone know of a way to find someone (probably not wanting to hire anyone, just yet)? Long story short, my wife and I haven't heard from her mother in a few years and now she has been thinking of her lately and wants to try and track her down. I've tried all my google-fu and haven't come up with much information post 2016. Thanks.

If you know what town/city & state she's in real estate records are one way to do it. Most municipalities list their tax books online now, so it's as easy as downloading the tax booklet and searching for that name. Gives you a mailing address.

Thanks, tried that route. Because of her past is very unlikely she owns property and therefore wasn't showing up in areas we think she could be. Only thing I could get was a PO Box from 3 years ago.

Middle of winter with no one else there didn’t expect such a warm welcome. I just chocked it up to the local color and hospitality...

Gotcha. And likely no forwarding address, if it was from that long ago.

If she's online you can try facebook stalking through people that you'd both be likely to know, but you've probably already tried that route as well.

Yeah, she has a FB but nothing on there since 2015 and no email address public. She's left the region and in another part of the country with a boyfriend (at least they left together) and no one in the family/friends have heard from her.
She's had a complicated past, most likely with active warrants for not showing to court dates, so not surprised there's no digital footprint. Every 6 months or so I try and see if I can get any new information on her.

When "complicated" folk go missing, I always try to find people they "borrowed" from or took a loan from.

Not much, but has helped me in the past. 3 towns and 4 people who kept track due to bad terms.

    Good info too.

Doesn't look like I'll be finding any new information this go around, but that means she's still somewhere so that is good at least.

Getting out at one today, using my last summer day. Going home, loading the trailer with the mower and heading to my in-laws to cut the grass one last time. Then later today, picking up the wife's "new" car.

Tomorrow, picking up the in-laws from JFK in the afternoon.

Sunday, pickup soccer in the A.M., then likely lunch at my parent's house, hopefully mowing my grass in the afternoon, and likely dinner at the in-laws.

    You?

Not sure yet actually. Wife is in Newport tonight and tomorrow. I'll probably go for a long-ish trail run either tomorrow morning or sunday morning, some yard work.

Just picked up this Leer 100R pretty cheap - overall in good shape but not the right color so I threw some plastidip on it for now - truck goes to body shop in a few weeks for the dent. I figure the bed has to come off so I may get a quote to custom match while they are doing the body work! IMG_3957.jpg
