OEM Toyota Roof Rack -- any noise?

My new Tacoma's got a moonroof, thinking about putting a rack on it. I've had noise issues in the past w/ round-crossbar racks on other vehicles... it made using the moonroof very annoying (even after trying jammers and a fairing) and it ultimately led me to ditch the rack.

It seems like the OEM Tacoma rack's fold-away crossbars (cool feature!) would effectively eliminate any of the rack noise that you'd typically get. True?

Full disclosure: I'm mostly looking into this rack for cosmetic reasons, as I'm getting a mid-rise canopy and the rack's profile will help the roof line look a little less blobby, from what I've seen.

I didn’t have any wind noise on my 17. I did have them closed when not using them. The weight rating for factory racks is terrible. I was hauling a canoe and kayaks. Worked great for those uses. My 18 I’ll be getting a rhino rack. Better weight.

 

No noise from mine.

 

Just installed the oem rack a few days ago. No noticeable wind noise compared to naked roof.
