The main reason people opt for the magnuson on the v6 motors is for the low end power provided. The maggie is a roots style s/c, where as the urd is a centrifugal supercharger (meaning its more similar to a turbo on the power curve)

If you're at all considering the URD kit and you have an AUTO trans I'd look up some reviews on this forum before purchasing

Sell it and get a v6 with supercharger

@TacomaGuy23 has a 2.7 (URD s/c'd) with the Auto and hasn't had any of the hard shifting, that im assuming you're alluding to @markm0311 .. if you're talking about something else, please correct me..

Did you installed the kit yourself? If so, how hard is it?

    Hahaha, you're funny.
They're totally different animals. The TRD is a roots style supercharger that effectively increases engine displacement while you can think of the URD one as a belt driven turbo.
URD is better for a high RPM driving style like street trucks (what gadget is all about) and the TRD/Magnusson one is faster off the line so it shines off-road or in towing applications.
URD is the only bolt on option for the 4banger tho but at that price and given the inline 4 cylinders I'd go the actual turbo route. Doesn't eat power to make power

4.10 is factory gearing on those 4bangers.

No. 3 years ago I almost cut off one hand & it's not fully functional. I shredded nerves & tendons as well as taking a chunk out of my radius bone2 weeks after corective surgery.jpgwrist xray 0002.jpg
Wrong. This adds more power at every RPM
Can you show me a Dyno sheet from a turbo 2.7 Taco with more than 245HP?

Ugh! Where did I say your little belt turbo doesn't increase power down low?? By the way your dyno chart starts at 2,000 rpm and everybody who's driven the little 2.7L knows that it struggles the most before 2,000 rpm.

Enjoy your truck man. Glad you're happy with your investment. Don't need to be defense and spread misleading "info"

For $5G plus tax and install labor (for those incapable of installing) there are other options than the URD kit.

A whipple or roots would make power everywhere. Your curve will unfortunately mirror a turbo style curve. It's more controlled of course, which is attractive, but IMO it takes the fun factor out of it

In the 1st one your torque is 52?
If this is real well f'n done?
Mine is between the Roots/Whipple & the centrifugal shown. For me it's got plenty of fun factor

I never claimed to have the fastest, most powerful 4Banger Taco.
I just asked to see better dynos

Not mine, but a good friends

The RPM trigger wasn't hooked up, which messes with the torque readings.

And the second graph is the same motor, just more stuffs done to it

Pretty cool setup. Can't wait for mine to be done. It will surpass his in performance, but might not look as good as his engine!
