Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I used to have a Dinan supercharged M3. The first time the smog guy tried failing me. I had all the CARB stickers though. I'm sure it'll be the same. They'll open your hood and plan to fail you instantly.

 

It'll pass smog for $300.

Put me down for two turbo kits and than how much to get you out to CA for custom tuning of said turbo kits?

 

After paying $5-6k for a turbo kit I have no desire to pay $300 every 2 years to pass smog. That's just annoying.

 

Considering mat said the twin turbo will stomp a supercharged tundra, it's going to be well over 60-75 horsepower. We're probably looking at well over 100 to the wheels

 

I would be embarrassed to offer a twin turbo kit that only adds 75 hp.

 

Any chance you'll have a CARB legal kit?

 

Not sure, but unlikely to be any time soon. CARB process is ridiculously expensive

 

Dude you need to get your ECU updated to B0400 and install 1.04R. Totally different than 1.04. I am 4.88 geared with 285-70-17s and 1.04r and it is awesome.

Kinda like having a baby... just cause the due date is 1 Sep. It doesn't mean that baby is coming on 1 Sep so rock on until then!

 

Also, who's to say you are going to like 1.05. At least if you have 1.04R then you can compare when the time comes.

 

I truly mean this in the nicest way possible, as a fair warning: If you don't have any desire to spend $300 randomly on silly things a stock car won't ask of you, a turbo kit is not for you! Any major modification like this will not be 100% maintenance free, and most of that maintenance will certainly not be free!

I can be beaten now.

 

Like I said before, custom work requires custom maintenance. And anything custom is NOT cheap

 

When you live in NC and can buy a house for dirt cheap that may be the case. I have spent plenty on my truck already, and possibly more than you. And as I said I used to have a supercharged M3. I'm well aware of the cost of things. Don't feel like spending $300 on NOTHING.

 

Don't bring the housing market into this, because it's just plain dumb. You could move if you wanted, so the housing market in your area is irrelevant. Feel free to move and buy a house elsewhere for dirt cheap and then have that $300 or more to spend on hookers and blow or maintenance for your truck or whatever else

You're military, right? Then you know that not everyone can move if they wanted...you move when you're ordered to to where they want you.
